looks like aluminum (?) if so, aluminum and scalloped design usually puts it circa 1910-1920

Thank you guys, Still cannot find info on this. Dug in Albany Georgia where 2 confederate buttons were dug, also had a camp.

Nice find, wayfas - it is considerably newer that Civil War era, 1895 at the earliest for that style. And, if it is aluminum rather than brass, it would probably be 1900 at the earliest. I'd recommend posting it on tokencatalog.com for more researchers to see it.
