Civil War rivet?

Found this in a field where I had found some other Civil War relics. It looks similar to some rivets I have seen from that period but I have not been able to find any with the "C". Any ideas?

Can't give you any solid info on period or provenance . It definitely is an unused copper rivet in very
good condition .
