Put together this display of detecting finds, antique purchase and couple items purchased from The Badgemaker.
The dug finds are from a Cavalry battle in Western Maryland on the retreat from Gettysburg. My GGG Grandfather A J Lichliter was a Pvt in 7th Virginia Cavalry and was captured and made prisoner here. The Badgemaker created the ID tag and made the Laurel Brigade patch which the 7th Va was part of. I bought the CSA bugle at an antique store in Virginia. The dug finds in top right is a souvenir pin found on battlefield. Maybe a Gar was held here? Top left is suspenders clip. Couple minie balls including a confederate Gardner and 3 ringer along with 3 different round balls.
Lastly the little handle which after looking at the pictures I took I noticed what looks like a carved W J! Pretty cool find after the fact now I probably will have to take it out to clean it better.
Enjoy and thanks
