Detected a house that was a school house in the 1800s. Was very disappointed because I found probably 20 pennies all from the 60s and only 1 wheat penny. I found this item under some old large cedars and after washing looks like something attached to leather. On the metal thing it says in god we trust across the top and 1860 I think on the bottom. I'll post this in the "what is it" forum as well.

The thing that's frustrating is I've seen this bust on something before

After looking at the date under a 10x it could be something other than 1860. The third number is just too hard to make out. I've been trying to google search but haven't had any success since I don't really know where to start

My gut feeling is it's some piece of a uniform or belt or scabbard or something. Doing a little more research the school house was on a map from 1855 so the areas definitely old. These cedars that it was under was on the next property over. Frustrating that it is too cold to detect today
