Civil war/plowed field items

The piece above the quarter in your last pictures looks like the brass piece off a rotor button (car distributor) the little rivets would hold the brass spring-like piece that made contact with the center of the cap (and coil wire). Just a guess.

More likely part of a Model T era buzz coil (ignition).

Sorry I don't have time to look for the match, but your piece with the slot is for the adjuster to a cable. (brake or throttle)
The cable would fit down through the slot and then the piece would fit into the adjusting tube with an adjusting nut to tension the cable.
Here's a picture of a cable that would fit through the slot, to give you an idea.
