✅ SOLVED Civil War Pistol Bullet??

Hi everyone - my son and I found this bullet in a creek this evening and were wondering if it was possibly a civil war pistol round. The rings and the concave bottom reminded me of that era of bullet, but I cannot find a match online. Thanks for looking!!

What's the diameter?

I unfortunately don't have calipers. It's a hair bigger than 3/8" diameter.

Looks like there are cannelures in the grooves, making it post civil war.

I'll try to clean the algae off of it a bit, but I don't think there are cannelures in the grooves. Thanks for the replies so far.

It's a 38 caliber pistol bullet 1890- 2023

This isn't really an opinion type deal though. It either is or isn't, that bullet is 100% not a sharps carbine bullet.
