Subdivision is saidto be haunted, lot's of stories like small kids saying they've seen and talkedto a man wearing a uniform. I was told I was in a battlefield area so I justhad to step outside into cousin's backyard wooded area and detect! Found thislittle guy under 4" of hard ground....made my visit worthwhile! Would be hitting those woods in the future. Any day you pop out a CW relic is a good day in my opinion. :icon_thumleft:

thanks for commenting guys, if only the minie ball could tell the story!!

Nice score !

You never know that could have been the bullet that creates the ghost. Awesome find. Wh

A friend of mine just advised me next time to ask those little kids where the ghost keeps his buckle!!!:laughing7:

Ha, no doubt on that one. :icon_thumleft:

Nice mini ball! You sure someone didn't whisper in your ear where to find it?

That might very well been true!! That 'whisper' said 'dig here'........actually I did think about the haunting part when I was in the woods by myself !! I can't wait to go back!

great find Wayfus, :hello2: that looks like a union minie ball, is that right? since you are in Georgia....great find. know Sherman came thru. my ancestors ....three sons, served in the CSA infantry from northern Georgia, one was KIA in Mississippi at battle of Bakers Creek, the other two captured, and later paroled. The dead brother buried in a mass grave in MS. The one that lived, was the grandfather of my grandmother. My mom remembered him, and I held two of his long guns from that era.

to hold that history in your hand...gives one chills

Yes it is a union minie....actually my first dug minie that has been fired. Thank you for sharing your family history....that sent chills just reading about holding what your ancestors held! Thats why I love this hobby, items dug in the ground are timecapsules from yesteryear. Each post has a unique story to tell, each another's audience! If only the guns could talk...

Nice find...Love to hear more about the haunted subdivision, especially this time of year...:)
