This has been sitting on my desk for the last month or so. Was wondering if anyone can Possatively Identify this for me. Prety sure its a knife handle. It's very heavy for its size. Has a spade and a star on both sides. Looked for the blade and couldn't find it. It was about a foot down on a beach and it was found in Cape Cod area. Seems like the wood is petrified too. Thanks for the help.

It's definitely a utensil handle of some sort with a patriotic theme. I would agree that it appears to be from around the era of the Civil War. Never seen one like it. Cool Find! :icon_thumright:

How big is it? The size of a kitchen utensil? A sheath knife? It's neat looking, and it looks to me like an iron blade might have rusted off on the bolster end? If it's small it could have also been a for or a spoon?

It measures 4 1/2 inches long and about 2 inches round and heavy
