civil war in illinois?

just wondering if anyone has any stories of civil war battlefields/encampments or skirmishes in the state of illinois.

Couldn't find any Battles, but at Cairo, Ill, the Union had a huge Supply Depot & Troop Camp! The Us Navy had their Miss. Fleet Hq. @ Mound City. Here's a list of CW Prisons in Ill. http://www.illinoiscivilwar.org/cwprisons.html

Camp Douglas, located on Chicago's near South Side is NOT an area you would want to MD at. Located just South of Michael Reese Hospital, it is in da Hood, and most of the area is covered by tower housing development, and in any case, has been extensively landscaped. Supposedly, the area under and East of the Metra tracks was part of the rifle range, but is now Chicago Park District property. Use Google Earth to locate the monument erected to Douglas, go a little East and then West almost a mile to see the site.
