Anybody ever hunted around the St. Mary’s River or want to join me if I can get my hands on a boat? Been reading a lot of officer’s correspondence in the searchable official civil war record online about the expeditions inland via the river on steamers and it sounds like a real-life 19th century version of “Apocalypse Now.” The correspondence I’m reading is saying that hundreds of confederates were moving up and down the river to ambush the steamers at virtually every bluff along the way. I live about an hour away and the river looks to be undeveloped in the majority of places. Could be some great hunting out there. Also some earlier period sites that I’ve read about on the river that could be really great.

That river is rich in old bottles. Relics of all kinds are likely to be found. I have some old friends that found nice glass there diving. The bluffs and river below should be good for NA items too.
