Went for short hunt in an area where I have found CW cavalry relics several times before (spurs, Spencer casings, etc.). In addition to a few bullets, I also found some sort of hook or loop that I do not recognize. Any idea what it might be?
It's made of brass and appears to have a kind of tab made of very thin metal riveted to one side. I also found part of a second one, but it is much more toasted. It's seems like it's some sort of loop or clip? I have no idea if it is CW or not, but it does appear to have been in the ground a long time. Higher res photos to follow when I get back home!
