Ok for starters me and a few buddy's of mine have dug button backs tons and tons of bullets dropped and fired spurs a us buckle rivets and tons of more stuff in central va but this item had me so confused I know it's lead and I know it's carved but into what or for what there is a decent sized hole on the under side and to me it almost appears to be a 4 deeply sliced in I've seen trench art and gaming peices if this was half the size I'd say a chess peice of some sorts can anyone please help???? 20160326_160006.jpg 20160326_160033.jpg 20160326_160019.jpg 20160326_160040.jpg

Certainly carved lead, but it would be a very large chess piece. Might have just been a chunk someone was killing time with. Interesting find nonetheless.

I have found a lot of carved lead. It's probably my favorite CW thing to find. It's so personal and one of a kind. Like mirage 83 says, he was probably just wittalin. You have to wonder what was going through his mind at the time. That's a great find! Congrats

To me its even more odd that it looks like a very well sliced 4 on the side of it
