Civil War Camp and an unexpected surprise

A friend and I went to the site of an old civil war camp used in 1862. Researched this site awhile now, but still have not found the main encampment. We're closing in, as finds are indicating. Today I found, I believe, a flat button with "orange gilt standard" embosed on the hook side. Anyone have info on this? Also found a minie ball (pistol) not sure of the caliber, and two rivits. As for the surprise, an odd find in this area, but I'm guessing a farmer droped it sometime the 20th century, or the field was used for something else. This 1937D Walker in great shape, about 6 inches down. Made my day, although my original intent was civil war finds. Not complaining.

Good luck with the site. Tsgman

I'm not 100% sure from the picture, but you may have found more civil war articacts than you thought. Your rivet on the left looks like a cufflink, and the one on the right looks like a percussion cap.

Beautiful coin renegade!

All the old coins dug around here are always in sad shape... :-\
