Hello I'm a new member. I am trying to get an ID on a war button with crossing swords. Below that is the inscription G. There are no markings that appear on the back but I could be mistaking because it's a bit rough.

I would thankfully appreciate wether someone can tell me if its civil or really anything about it.

I tried uploading a picture. Hopefully it comes in after I foward this. If not all I have is the disription above.

Thanks everyone.

My guess is crossed sabors/swords represents the Calvary, the 5th Calvary, might be a 5 instead of a G.

Here's a good site to help you ID your collar insignia. A picture of the back would be helpful but I am guessing it's a type 1 bronze Cavalry used from 1910-1924. And, welcome to the forums.

Wow, thanks everyone for the all feedback and warm welcomes. I think nhbenz you are right dating it back to ww1.

Omegared, That site pretty much solves and answered all my questions.

Fyrffytr1 that's a sweet link and nice read about them.

Wish it were civil but can't complain. It's preserving history and making of memories.

Thanks for all the responces, they all helped.
