My brother-in-law and I were hunting near a CW site in VA and found this button, along with some other things. Can anyone identify what these things are?

Where is the button from?

What is the roundish thing (with the post) in the lower lefthand corner of the second picture? What is the item that looks like a Roman numeral III?

What is the chunk of black stuff in the third picture? It is very light, maybe a chunk of cinder? It read zero VDI on my MXT.

Thanks for your help!

Lower left is a catridge box fenial. The bottom right bullets I dont believe are CW. The button looks to be a musicians button I think. That looks sorta like a music holder in thge middle of the button. Once you get it cleaned up you maybe able to tell a little more about it. Those are great finds. Google your button and you may be able to find out more...d2

What you have there appears to be some variation of a Confederate South Carolina State button. Also a nice buckle. It looks like a colonial shoe buckle or either a buckle that came off of a horse harness. I found on in Colonial Williamsburg that was a shoe buckle. Pic is posted down the thread.

The roman numeral looking thing is a part of a harmonica reed...d2

Yes that was a quick preliminary but yes I do agree on closer analysis :)
