Left to right: 3 ring minie ball, middle round ball or case shot and on the right is a Williams cleaner bullet.

From left to right you have a 3 ring , round ball and a William's patent III in 58 caliber. Also called a Williams cleaner because it was used to clean the lead fowlings out of the gun barrel when it was shot.Without precise measurements we can't tell you much more. Also please post a picture of the base cavity in the three ringer. The only reason I can identify the Williams bullet is because they were only made in 58 caliber. And, the type III wasn't produced until 1863.

Yes, get a pic of the base of the 3 ringer. I type about 80 words a minute. 70 if anyone actually wants to read them.

Place the three ringer base to base with the Williams. If they a are the same size then it is a 58 caliber. If it is slightly smaller it is a 54 caliber. 54 and 58 calibers were the most common ones used.

if the 3 ringer is bigger then its a 69 cal --springfeild type

I recently came back from a cross-country trip to seek medical help for my brain damage that I'm dying from. Unfortunately there is no help for hope but while in Mobile Alabama I did find this Civil War bullet just wondering if anyone knew anything more about it I love history.
