What a great day the sun popped out and I had to take off my jacket this morning.
I searched a field where there was a small civil war battle over a railroad bridge here
in TN. I have looked in several areas before but have had no luck
finding any thing. My luck changed this morning as I was out for a little over 2 hrs.
and found three bullets and a 1934 wheat penny. Hope to hit this area again soon.

Onion I think the civil war stuff is my favorite to detect for.
As I dug up the fist of those bullets It was cool to look around and
imagine what it was like during the battle and which ridge the
bullets were likely shot from. These were all three ring bullets
I think they are union but not 100% sure maybe some one here knows.

I have found bullets like these before. Didn't know they were civil war! HMMM! Giterdone.

Giterdone I am sure there are bullets like these that were shot
that were not used in the war. These were found at a known
battle site. I would check the history of the area you found yours.
It is really neat to dig them when you have a idea of where the troops
were set up, and what they may have been shooting at or protecting.

union 3 ringers is what they are called the ones that you find which have not been fired are refereed to as dropped many times the powder would get wet and the soldier would simply discard the bullet sometimes they where just dropped
also be sure to look inside your bullets for starts and crows feet which look like a 5 line star
