The bullet measures .3125 in diameter. Length is 11/16 inch.

Caliber may be a .32

It has a flat base and 2 grooved rings.

Found this picture of a .32 long.

I want to know if it is pre-1900 or modern. Thanks.

It looks like a CW .31 revolver bullet to me, but I'm not the bullet expert. Breezie

It looks like it has crimps around the bottom ring if it does it's a modern bullet. Even if it doesn't have the crimps I believe it is more modern and not civil war.

I'm pretty sure that's post 1900..

It's not a revolver bullet, as the length and ogive aren't right.

That rounded nose profile says post 1930s rifle bullet to me.
If it helps I agree. I know the civil war bullets pretty well but not the different types of post war bullets. About all I can tell on them is that they are not civil war :tongue3:

I have some similar lead bullets I reload for my 7.62 Russian Revolver, but it could be anything from a .32 Colt, long and short as well a a variety of Smith and Wesson. I don't think it's a rimfire bullet because it isn't designed to be inside the case lubricated (the base would be smaller than the rest of the bullet). I don't know if it is possible to date it as it is so common to so many different cartridges. Hope you are having a merry Christmas. Monty
