Got over to a small farm in a town not too far away this afternoon for a few hours of hunting with a friend who is just starting to detect. No sooner had I started when I got a half dollar and overload signal. Turned out to be a model 1851 officers sword belt plate. Unfortunately it is a little bent on one end and does not have the silver wreaths on it any more, but I could not be happier. It was in a dump area and was only about three inches deep....Lance

WOW ! I bet that big grin is still on your face ! Congrats.

Oh by the way, did you find any other military stuff at that site ?

That's great, Comfy. Those military relics are looking pretty good to me. Keep up the great finds!

Lance, will you ever cease to amaze me?

I hope not.

Another great find and another great preservation of our history.

Lance, you are on a roll like never before, keep it up. It is going to be a long cold winter so enjoy it now. I just hope when the ground freezes you can contain yourself till spring. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow great find. That thing looks like it could be in a magazine.

Slow down!! You are making us look bad. :-\ ;DWe can't keep up.

That's a really nice buckle Comfy. I hope to turn up one here in P.a. With all the action it has seen there has to be one out there. When your on a streak your on a streak. I got out of mine this summer with work. But now I am finding it again. You have to stay hunting all the time.

Good Luck as if you need it.
