I have found what looks like three deteriorated bayonets at two different Civil War sites. The shape looks right but they seem very small. I don't know if this is extreme decay or maybe something else entirely??

I was hoping that these were in fact bayonets, I thought that if I had found three at least one might have the socket.... it makes sense if there was a weld at that spot that's where the break would be. Thanks. It is very possible that these are bayonets.
Some P1853 Enfield bayonets had a steel blade welded to an iron socket. On these, the weld has broken.

That's the answer that I wanted to hear, thank you....I hope to find a complete one at some point.--JBDCMatt is correct (as usual). On yours, either the weld broke, or the entire socket has corroded away. I'd need to see super-closeup photos to tell for certain... which isn't really neccessary for ID. The answer to your question is, they are the blade component of civil war era British Enfield socket bayonets.
