Cibola Coil Confusion

I have a Cibola detector that I bought second hand that has been modified with ground balance function. However, some other changes may have taken place.

For instance, I bought an after-market CORS coil for it and received it today. The plug on the coil is a 5-PIN male plug. The Cibola I have has a 4-PIN male plug on the control box and a 4-PIN female plug on the coil cable!!

What is the right plug on the Cibola and has my Cibola been modified?

Cibola, Vaquero, and Tejon are all 4 pin. You got a coil for Tesoros 5-pin, Umax models. It's not anything with the detector, just the wrong style of coil.

You just got the wrong coil. The 4 pin is standard on the Cibola.

Just thought I’d throw in my two cents here - unless there’s some reason you need to use that CORS coil...send it back and get yourself a genuine Tesoro coil. I suppose some folks like their aftermarket coils, but I didn’t care for the one CORS I had. Tesoro coils work great.
That’s all I have to say about that.

Ditto!

Stop wasting your money on cheap imitations.....

Only reason I'd get aftermarket is if they had a certain type (concentric/DD) and size that Tesoro doesn't make. To date noone makes an elliptical concentric so I use what I have and all genuine Tesoro.
But, to each their own and as long as it fits your needs, buy whatever you want!! :-)

I know buy an outlaw then you can use that coil!
