Metal Detecting
Here are a few items I found during my camping trip in the interior of Maine. My husband dropped me off at church that dates from 1789 while he and my daughter went hiking. I had about two hours in which to detect and defend myself from the swarms of black flies. I apologize for the less than stellar out of focus photos. I think it may be time to upgrade the camera. The first shot shows some pieces of china. One of the pieces has what looks like an oriental motif with maybe the top of a pagoda done in brown. Then we have what I am taking to be the squashed lid to an art deco makeup compact with a Greek Key type design around the perimeter. Next is a very sad looking cross and part of the chain that it hung from. Then we have an equally sad looking tin? cup and a collection of Tootsie-type cars. Lastly a rusted spring which was found in the farm field adjoining the church. The 1941 quarter was the last find of the day, and I was so ready to be finished with my hunt that I didn't even register that I found SILVER till I got back to my campsite. :laughing7:
