Chrysocolla is a hydrated copper silicate. The crystals are intergrown with quartz or with opal and used in jewlery. I was fortunate enough to acquire this very unique rough for a very fair price. It is approximately the size of half a baseball. Historically a type known as Eilat Stone reportedly came from King Soloman's mines. Can't imagine breaking this precious specimen into hundreds of gemstones..or can I? lol.
