Christmas Eve Eve & Eve ...... Sweet.......

Sweet Arrow Lake.

I gave up, Never thought they would Drain it again.
They just Stocked it a Few short months ago, and Now they drained it,
to Extend the Boat Ramp, Put in a Handycap Fishing Pier, Put in Dry Hydrants
for the Fire Company & Fish Habitat.
Everything must be done by February So they can Stock again in March and April.
So I decided I better hit it while I can.

Nice Jeff , I think about throwing my electric meter in the lake about once a month.

LOL, I'm surprised there isn't more in there.

Update on the "Black Stuff" I dried a little out & I sparkled when
I lit it.
Guess I should have called someone & turned My house
& Town into a Circus, when they come to pick it up Huh ?

It's Defused now. Wide open & soaking in Water.

Yea your Probably Right Cheese. It's Heavy Copper Pipe.
I would think the ends would have Popped before the
pipe would have Split. They probably forgot to use Waterproof
fuse :P

P.S.

It was suggested by the size of the Bell, it may
be from a Girls Ice skate. Sounds Logical to me
as it's too small for a warning bell connected to a Fishing pole.

thats some pretty scary shit! I'm glad the powder was wet. my guess is that some kids made it and tried to blow it up in the lake. you really never know what your going to find.

Your Right on both accounts.

This lake has produced alot of intresting items.
most of my Collection comes from it.

I still havn't found the Gulf Cart, Parking Meters or Automobiles
that are said to be in it yet. one of the autos supposedly went through
the ice in the 40's. I never understood the golf cart incident.
just that someone drove it into the lake :P

Still alot of Slot Machines left yet too

Homemade M-80's. Used to make 'em when we were a kid too. Not going to go into details except to say they sent industrial food cans 50 to 75 feet in the air and left a nice sized crater.

Jeff, good luck. Those slots are bound to show up but would imagine they're quite deep under the silt. They may have been dropped by boat in the deepest part of the lake to prevent reemergence.

Some we Dumped over the Edge By the Police after raids in the Late
40's, Some were taken out by Boats, By Club owners Scared and
or about to be raided.
other then the 2 I already got, the rest are Definately in deep mud.

It will take alot of Luck Just pinpointing them.

I wonder if you can get the design of the pvc detector coil from TC's Cash and Treasure. You know, the one used to hunt for meteorites. Might as well have fun while detecting.

that would be Great to tow behind a Boat, In the Swamp area.
But Unfortunately Recovery in Mud & water would take Professionals.

Plus being the First County Park, I don't know how the people in charge
would react to that.

We got awsome reputations with them, from the First draining, with all the Rings Etc. We returned, and the Showing of our Finds at their one Meeting, Giving their Project Publicity in the Process.
But Everyone has a Limit.

Just havn't found out what theirs is Yet :P

Believe me, I was Very Carefull. V E R Y I dug the wax out
in small chunks.

& I put a Very Tiny amount of Powder in the sink, Lit a Piece of Tissue
and threw it in on top.

The Phrase "DON'T DO AS I DO" should be mentioned I guess.

But the Alternative to doing it myself
, would have created a "Circus Event"

State Police, Fire Companies, Evacuations, National Guard Bomb Squads,
Media, 209 Shut down for Hours :P
Joliett (a 23 house town) Would have Rememberd this Christmas for Ever
