Christmas Eve Eve & Eve ...... Sweet.......

Sweet Arrow Lake.

I gave up, Never thought they would Drain it again.
They just Stocked it a Few short months ago, and Now they drained it,
to Extend the Boat Ramp, Put in a Handycap Fishing Pier, Put in Dry Hydrants
for the Fire Company & Fish Habitat.
Everything must be done by February So they can Stock again in March and April.
So I decided I better hit it while I can.

Not too much in coins, was only there for 2 hours each day.

I did Manage a 1966 Quarter ;

13 (My lucky #) Memorials.

and 2 Wheats 1925 & 1944




The other item in the pictures seems to be part of a handle from
a very old piece of pottery.
Being there was an Indian Village on this spot before the lake was built, & alot of Indian Artifacts Are being dug here, I am Hoping it is indian. I still have to have it checked to confirm though.

I found this Very small Bell. Still has the Clapper.
it was about 2" down.
it is just about as tall as a dime on edge,
and probably as round as a 3 cent silver coin.




a Musket Ball



and this Unknown Piece of Pipe, Filled with Wax ?
It's as round as a Flair about 1 1/8" thick , 3 1/2 " long
and if not metal, I would think Dynamite

Alot of Sinkers & Lures of course



and some Who Cares

the Wheel is plastic from a Cassette
the small round is a Snap from Jeans Maby.
the oblong a Sinker, I forgot to add above
the tiny round, just a metal eyelet
and the Tall Yellow Thingy ? Don't know.
it's the size of a shotgun shell, Plastic, But not hollow all
the way through. No Biggie. No Value.



Part of a Rod. It Dosn't appear to be Broke.
It like it was one of the rods you carry to the site Then put it together,

This button is the size of a Dime.

Was found in the same area several Large Cents & Half Cents have been pulled out in the past. But was only about Half as deep.
Maby 5" - 6 "

No Markings But unusual Back. Any Ideas ?

I cleaned the Rings out Last Draining
Actually, I got over 120 Rings (Stopped counting after that)
Last time it was drained.
But Probably only Scratched the Surface on what's there.

Unfortunately The temps & Weather dosn't look too Inviting through
Sunday now, So all I can do is Hope for the best Next week.

I can handle 50 with the sun shining, but 40 with Clouds ?
Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Nice finds there for only two hours. The button looks pretty old. Any writing on it? They drained the town boat launch in my town. People don't swim there so I was not sure if it would be worth checking out.

I don't Know, Never crossed my mind. The one end has a Hole
Like a Fuse Could be added.
I'll have to Throw it in the Burner Next time I Burn Trash.


JK Maby I'll dig it out later, see if there is powder or solid wax all the way through.

4 Hours Total. Two hours Each day.
That is actually Bad for this lake.

First lake here was Built in Early 1800's to Feed the Canal.
It burst in the Mid 1800's, Became a Grazing Field for Cows till Late 1920's then Rebuilt for Powerstation use.
Was used for swimming & Power Company Socials, till 1970's or 80's.
Only Fishing after that, until 2000 when the County bought it to turn it into a County Park. and as I said, Was an Indian Village pre 1750's

No writing on the Button.
