I got out today and I always say to myself "please find something colonial" This might post date colonial but it is close, It is my biggest complete one and my first without a number, I also found a merc.. I love finding old stuff and would rather find an item like this than 50 mercs. BTW the disc with the eagle on it I didn't find, I was just admireing it and put in in the pic, i never did Id it, I am sure Garryson or Crusador will ID it in a flash if they see this post.

Nice find, I really love those old bells. Especially when they're decorated like that!

Found a similar crotel bell , way better than a mercury dime , cleaned mine and got a nice green patina , yours has a petal design , iam going to guess its from mid to late 1800s . Any makers marks on the bottom . Here is a picture of mine

I always like complete bells, never get bored of them - congrats.

If you post both side of the Roman? Coin I will tell you:thumbsup:

I have found several, but none of mine have designs on them like yours, congrats.

Nice crotal bell. Looks like it came off of Santa's sleigh!

Nice find! And I agree - 1 nice "relic" beats a bunch of common silver dimes (or coins in general) any day of the week!

Cool mercury dime they just don't make coins like they used to

Very nice Crotal Bell--I agree much better than a Merc or even a Barber dime :) What part of NJ are you in BTW? I'm in northern NJ myself.

Very nice find... and in once piece! Congrats!
