Choosing

Shawn what I've decided to do is average out each of the responses to see how many of each coin I will buy. Thanks a lot for your input and HH.

quarters hands down. Those elusive quarters are great to get your hands on and they are worth $7.25 compared to a dime that is worth only $2.90.

Flipping coin...heads, skunk. Tails, skunk.

Result: SKUNK

I cancel out the quarter vote by voting a negative quarter. Can you do that?? :laughing9:

Sorry BB lol

Presidential dollars. Need someone to start collecting these things so tellers stop asking me if I want them.

Probability wise your highest profit will be from buying cent boxes.

I know a lot of people get 15% copper or better, so you should end up with $75 in copper cents. Those have 2.6 cents each in copper value, so worth $195. now you wont actually get $120 profit out of them. More likely to get something like $135 on ebay for them (latest auction I found here http://cgi.ebay.com/7500-Copper-Bul...ultDomain_0&hash=item336a4a5575#ht_829wt_1395). So that's $55 profit, minus fees ($15) ends up with somewhere around $40. That's a lot better dollar amount than what I get out of boxes of half dollars (by a large bit!). You'd have to find 2 90% and 2 40% halves in each $500 box to top the same dollar amount of cent boxes.

like I said before, why do boxes? just show the tellers what a silver coin is, tell them that the coin is worth 30x face value, and demand they give you all those shiny silvers. Quarters are the way to go man, I did 1 box of quarters so far and got a 1949d quarter, worth $7.25!!!!!!!

Pennies. I go through 2 or 3 boxes of pennies a week. All by hand. I sell the copper at my local coin shop for 2 cents each. I'm also finding a lot of coins for my Dansco. Sometimes I find dimes or foriegn coins. I have searched boxes of halves, dimes, nickels, and quarters. The only thing I've found in these are proofs, a half crown, and a hand full of pre-1960 Jeffersons. I'll keep lookin' but around here the money is in pennies.

I would do 5 boxes as follows:

$50 pennies (2 boxes)
$200 nickels (2 boxes)
$250 dimes (1 box)

I just can't stand it.....
