My daughter-in-law made this for my son, who will eat a whole package of oreos if you let him, and he just loved it.
1 pkg.(2 layer size) devils food chocolate cake mix.
4 squares semisweet baking chocolate
1/2 stick of butter, cut up
1 8 oz. pkg. of cream cheese softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups cool whip
12 oreo chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed
Preheat oven to 350
Pepare and bake cake mix as directed on package for two 9 inch round baking pans. Cool 5 min. remove from pans. Cool completely on wire racks.
Microwave chocolate and butter in a small microwaveable bowl on high 2 mins. or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Cool 5 minutes.
Beat cream cheese and sugar in a large bowl with electric mixer on med. speed until well blended. Gently fold in cool whip and crushed cookies. Place 1 cake layer, top side down, on serving plate. Spread cream cheese mixture on top. Cover with remaining cake layer, top side up. Spoon chocolate glaze over top of cake. Let stand until set. Store in refrigerator.
