It seems like everyone has found one Chinese cash coin at one time or another............ there must be as many of them things as there are chinese people

If I have time after work, Ill try to date them for you. The one with the round hole is unusual and the one above it may be replica souvenirs or temple tokens.. The others look authentic. You can find them all at Zeno but you really need to search. http://www.zeno.ru/showgallery.php?cat=501

Nice finds. I believe the two coins on the left in photos 3,4,5,and 6 are Kuang Hsu Tung Pao Chinese cash coins from the Canton Mint. They would have been minted between 1889 and 1908. Don't know why the second example has a round hole and not a square one.

I think I can help with a few:

Pic #1 = 1 Cash from 1736
Pic #2 identifies them as from the Peking Mint
Pic #3, left one is 1 Cash from Kwantung province, minted from 1890-1908, the right one is from Peking

Pic #4 and 5 - I cannot help you there - too garbled

I have found these in the past myself. The first one I found I thought, wow!this must be valuable! It's value?-------1-5 cents The age is determined by the diameter of the coin. Cheers

The reverse side of the coin (with four symbols) identifies the dynasty of the coin. This website was helpful for me when I found my Kuang Hsu Tung Pao coins: http://www.sportstune.com/chinese/coins/kuanghsu.html

The obverse (with two symbols) identifies mint locations of the coin. Interestingly, the first machine-made chinese cash coins were made at the Kwangtung Mint, just outside of Canton, where I believe two of your coins were made. The construction of this mint was completed in 1889. See this site to verify the mint locations of your coins:

Good luck!

Hard to tell which pic is which. Each pic has 2 different coins and there are 8 pics, every other pic showing the obverse sides. They are all marked group 5.

Sorry - should have been more clear:

Pic #1 = 1 Cash from 1736 (This is pic 344)
Pic #2 identifies them as from the Peking Mint (this is pic 345)
Pic #3, left one is 1 Cash from Kwantung province, minted from 1890-1908, the right one is from Peking (these are pics 346 and 347)

Pic #4 and 5 - I cannot help you there - too garbled (#4 = pic 348 and 349) and Pic #5 = Pic 350 and 351

Best
