I won a lot of miscellaneous foreign coins at an auction last weekend. Their former owner served in the South Pacific in WW2, so most of them were Chinese, Australian, Japanese, and Philippine. I was able to identify all but these two, which I believe are Chinese. The other Chinese coins in the lot were late dynastic and early Republic silver 10- and 20- cent and 10- and 20- copper cash. Their dates were from 1890 - 1926.

I have used a Jefferson nickel for size reference. The coin on the left is a silver alloy, reeded edge. The coin on the right seems to be a copper alloy like brass or even billon, and plain edge. I appreciate any help in identifying them.

The smaller coin is Chinese, and a silver 1 Jiao denomination (1/10 of a Yuan). It’s Xuantong, Qing dynasty and marked for ‘year 3’ of Xuantong, which would be 1911.

The larger bronze coin is Japanese and a 1 Sen denomination (1/100 of a Yen). It’s Taishō era and marked for ‘year 7’ of Taishō era, which would be 1917.

THANK YOU! I had just found the silver coin in a book, but I would have never have identified the bronze coin without your help. I appreciate it.
