A couple of yesterdays better finds. My first Chinese cash coin. I did see a similar coin that was dated in the 1700's. If so, this would be my oldest coin. Guess I need to find a translator to find out. Also a Great Seal Button. Research points to US military between WWI and WWII. It is about the size of a common penny. The back is toasty, but does have the loop intact. There is writing on the back of these buttons, but mine is way too crusty to decipher. Along with these came a big handful of wheats and no modern coins. I will be hitting this spot again soon. Any info helping with the ID's of these are appreciated. Your Great Seal button lacks the outer ring that was adopted in 1910, indicating it was made between 1902 and then. But seeing the back may still help, as there were patriotic button that use the emblem. Military ones would have a brass back, and usually not get "too toasty" for at least partial readibility.

Good info. I was gonna request a back photo of the button myself.

Your coin is a cash coin minted under Emperor Kao Tsung. Minted between 1736 and 1795. Nice old coin, and early great seal button.

I need a little more clearer photos of the reverse to be sure, but I think it is from the Board of Works mint in Beijing.
