Hi,

Picked these up at a flea market. The guy said they were 1920's coins from China. My ears tell me they are silver. They are slightly bigger than an American silver dollar; they weigh about 0.85-0.86 troy ounces.

No luck with a google image search. Any ideas?

They don't looks like silver to me.

I have exactly 31 fake Chinese 'silver' dollars. I paid 31 dollars for them.

I think they are fake because they look like nickle, and the design is different than the one in this link

1929 CHINESE REPUBLIC COIN Year 18 1929 Sun Yat sen 1 by samcoins

The link has different Water.

Also the denticles are different as well, the coin at the link has alternating large and small denticles, the OP first coin has one size denticles.

Thanks, that helps! Now I just need to verify that it's genuine -- with the name of it, I should be able to look up its expected weight.

I guess that weight matches mine, yeay!

I guess this gives new meaning to the term "junk silver", eh?

Did you weight it with a digital scale, and it weight 27 grams?

The details simply do not match the coin in the link above. But, ignore that if you want to.

Yes, weighed with a digital scale. It is strange about the ocean details. I'll probably show it to some dealers next coin show I go to. Well, I only bought a few of them so I'm not out much if they are fakes.
