Nice looking coin, Kuger!

What does the condor biting at the chain symbolize?

Foreign coins are lots of fun, for me...

Ohhhh, that's a beauty!
I looked around the web for it , but came up empty. Maybe it's a rare one? That'd be nice, huh.
Nice find!

the coin is a 2 reale coin (like a quarter* or "two bits" of a peso with a peso being equal to 8 reales under the old spanish money set up)--- the condor ( a native bird to chile) represents chile *-- biting its spanish "chain" as it became an independant country ( there was a war of independance from 1810 to 1818 to break free of spain)--the condor is to chile what the the eagle is an america " a symbol of freedom" ---yes it a silver coin -- it would make a killer neck coin for you I think being you are from chile --- Ivan

I just made some chili yesterday. I like mine with a little sour cream and cheddar cheese. ;D Nice coin too. :D
