Chest hunting

Hunting old furniture can be rewarding. Always pull out bottom drawer and look there. I found these items floating in the bottom wood pan of an old dresser.
Pin, Gold Locket, some gold chains with a gold heart on it , 3 silver Candian Dimes and Token from Black Hills the size of a quarter. and more .. keep an eye out! I will be digging this week if the weather stays nice as it has been here in Tenn.

I worked at a city landfill for over 12 years. A lot of the time people would die and family members would pay someone to haul all the stuff off to the dump. I would slice open the backs of covered chairs and couches and definately checked all of the dressers. Found lots of change in chairs and couches but the gold and silver were in the dressers. One of my daughters favorite rings is gold with an amethyst stone that was under a dresser drawer. Horrible place to work for a packrat!

Also check the pockets of any old clothes. A woman found $1100 in a suit coat pocket that she bought at the local Goodwill recently. She gave it back to Goodwill.

Same thing happened to me Steve... i was in Florida and tried on a suit jacket and it had about $2,000 in 20's in the side pocket ... I gave it back to goodwill as well and just as I did ..some poor old man came in with his son wnating to know if THAT particular jacket was still available .. seems he tried on another jacket and left his jacket on the rack with the Money in it... so always check the pockets!

hi all,
i bought a pair of shoes at the thrift store awhile back.
my daughter couldnt get her feet in them,turns out there was gold,silver and diamond jewelry in the toes of them.
they fit now,lol
also garbage picking i found an old cigar box with alot of costume jewelry in it.
there was also in the mix gold ,silver and diamond jewelry
and to top it off a 1907 $20 saint goudens,i was beside myself.
theres treasure in dem dare junk piles,lol

Bought a book at a garage sale one time and turns out the people I bought it from used a $10 bill as a bookmark. Came in handy since I was about to go on vacation.

dont forget to check shower curtain rods.
an older woman whom passed away was hoarding $10-20 -50-100 dollar bills,
in her rod,packed from end to end.
