Looking at it after I cleaned it with a brush, it now kinda looks like the holes are actually etched letters or something. .. lol, I guess I've been staring at it too long.

Larger than a baseball? Heavy? Slightly smooth? What that sounds like is a genuine rock. In fact, that is what you have. Sorry, those are not etchings or letters but probably contained some other softer lithic inclusions (most likely) or life form (can't tell by the pics) that has eroded away over its millions of years of existence. Just a rock.
