I was always told after a rain is the best time to hunt arrowheads in a recently tilled field. Is this true?today is a wash. But now I can't decide if i want to detect tomorrow or look for arrowheads.
there will be no digging today, mother nature hates me lol
Yes. where as yesterday there was an arrowhead close to the surface with a thin layer of dirt covering it , tomorrow it will be sitting nice and clean on top of the surface.I was always told after a rain is the best time to hunt arrowheads in a recently tilled field. Is this true?
This thread reminds me of Cjon's "controversial" thread with the video of him finding the LC at the old site with his son. I remember you washing your coin in the hole you had just dug because of the ground being so saturated. Am I right?
That's what rain suits are for, just take an umbrella if it bothers you. (I really kinda hate digging in mud too, especially if I don't have to )
I don't have that problem If my pointer gets muddy, I can just dunk it and wash it offI hate when my pinpointer gets all caked w mud

You are not alone, mother nature will hand that mess off to Murphy('s law) and send it all my way! It is starting to pour here now. It will rain thru the night and tomorrow. Sunday (my detecting day) we will have a chance of a thunder storm. Ok, I can bag me and the detector against rain, how the heck do I dodge the lightning?
If you say stand in a puddle of water and wave my detector in the air, already tried that....crispy with a chance of curly hair, and the M6 called me bad names!
