Ok guys, so me and Jimzz were out for a few hours this morning at the old fort. Jimmy got a very nice button again. So we leave and I tell him, I’m gonna go see if I can get that permission I’ve been wanting. So, I’ve been doing research on a battle site for about 3 years. The only reference is a map that is hand drawn from 1847. But I thought I’m gonna go see if I can get in here. I meet the owner who is a cool dude right off the bat, we hit it off I tell him why I’m there he gives me permission says nothing has ever been hunted then says, hey wanna see my old sword ? Well I think it’s old, then he places this in my hands. I almost sh@t myself. I thought everyone here would enjoy it.

Congrats on the permission and viewing that beautiful sword! :icon_thumleft:

Pretty nice! Before I finished reading the post, I thought you might have dug it up but still, it must have been a thrill to see it. What did the guy tell you about it, age, etc?
Good luck hunting the site.

It was passed down through his family. He knew nothing of the age, from my research I believe it to be of Prussian design and based on the 15 stars and matching late 1790s design I place it at a 1792 Cavalry Sabre.

Nice!!! It looks like Damascus steel!

Maybe not now I see the design
