Sorry, no idea of value, but very cool find!
It reminded me of a hunting/fishing badge I found years ago. It had a place to slip your folded up license in and was to be pinned on your shirt/jacket.
And welcome to Treasurenet! :coffee2:
Scott

Thanks Scott, for replying & the welcome!!!

There are a few factors that determine the price. I know when I find one of those out here, I could expect around $50 because there are only a few collectors out here. Given the State it is from, there should be more collectors than here, so I would say that $50 would be at the very least. These badges were usually "Chromed" and yours being dug, is missing the chrome.(I think?)
Another factor is the date. Most of these badges are usually from the 20's and up and yours being a 1911 makes it early in the automobile collectors world. I think it has the potential to be valuable.
Sorry I couldn't give you an actual price.
Nice find!
Dave.

Dave, dont be sorry about the actual price part, you helped me out quite a bit, and I thank you for that!!!

In the most recent edition of Price Guide to American & Canadian Chauffeur Badges by John J. Connors IV, it was listed at $155— and that was 15 years ago.
