Hi;

Was hoping to get an ID on this rough coin. Little larger than a quarter. Can make out an R at the 2 oclock on the front. Where there should have been a date on the back is a bad bruise but it was done a very long time ago as there is a heavy coat of patina on it. I included a quarter in the images for sizing purposes. I also see fine reeding around the edge of the coin.

Any idea? Also this a badly worn/bruised authentic or a bad counterfeit?

Looks like a Geo II to me.

Thanks for getting me turned in the right direction. Figured out it is a George II half Penny and would have dated sometime between 1729-1754 if it hadn't been so badly bruised. The one bad pinch mark is right where the date should have been, just my luck.
