changing a photo from bitmap and jpeg to jpg

some of my photos are bitmap and jpeg , is there a way to change it to jpg , so i can post then here

Open in your picture viewer, click on "file" then "save as" and save it as a .jpg. You can also resize them before you save them, which is helpful. 800x600 is usually the very largest I will post on here. Depending on peoples screen resolution, anything larger will sometimes make you have to scroll back and forth to see the picture, and every reply after that will run off the screen also.

I don't think it matters between jpeg and jpg.
