My buddy’s wife said he could detect today so we took advantage and went back to our spot where I found the 2 Reale yesterday. Anyway, it was a relic kinda day, kind of uneventful. My buddy got a ‘27 merc and some other assort stuff and that was the only coin. We spent most of our time in the oldest fields on the property that haven’t been hayed in at least 5 years, they’ve never been detected until today. We had to drop our reactivity to 0 just to get down 6 or 8” with our Deus ll’s. i got a intake ( until I picked it up) shoe buckle, a tiny crotal bell and a really nice tombac button, it’s the third tombac of this size and design that we’ve found here. So that’s gonna be the final hunt for 2023 for me, pretty good year since I didn’t get out as much as I used to, and I found some unusual silver coins.
Happy New Year!!!!!!!!
PS- I got home and Moose pooped on my kitchen floor😡

I gave you a like for the relic’s.
Not for the kitchen floor. Not sure what is worse that or my cat do it on my bed between me and the Mrs..
Mike the cat is now an out door cat.

Lol, cats can be vindictive , I had a cat as a kid that gave birth on my pillow😒

GREAT FINDS :) Thanks for sharing and thanks for NOT SHOWING what Moose did on the KITCHEN FLOOR :) LOL

What program are you using on the Deus 2 ?

Nice!!! Congrats!!!!

Gare, I use the general program with the reactivity at 1.5 ( usually) iron at 3, sensitivity at 96 and square tones. I don’t mess with discrimination , especially at older sites as I have no idea what could be in the ground, and I like to hear the iron. I have a deep program I got from JJ Simmons, the owner of Cold Harbor metal detectors in Mechanicsville VA that’s designed for finding anything deep, even iron and I don’t like it when hunting in southern New England, it’s geared more towards the mineralized Virginia soil I guess and seems to be very chatty.

JD thank you VERY MUCH for your input :)/7. I think every location needs to have different settings as ground mineralization probably different. AGAIN thank you for your input ;)

Well done on the recoveries of the buckle and button.

I haven't tried 0 for the reactivity as of yet, then again in iron I really slow down with a 1 or 1.5.
Have you tried the high square for audio as of yet?
I dial the discrimination down to at least 6, or a 5.8 and found more cuff buttons this last hunt.
It's a challenge for deep grass hay fields that haven't cut for several years.

We call the Moose poop-Scat....:laughing7:

I didn’t even know high square was a thing😳 I’m still running 7.1 I have not upgraded and I don’t think I will. In my opinion, the Deus ll out detects the manticore in farm field areas. I haven’t tried my manticore on the beach yet, I heard it’s good but for now, my manticore is still for sale😂😂😂😂
