Camped at Turtle Rock north of BV. I like the hiking in this area, and it easier to navigate than it may look in the pics. Lots of cactus and rocks, and for variety rocks and cactus. It's our monsoon season so a pretty good rain comes in every evening. We're still overrun with tourists, and a little difficult to find a place to camp sometimes. They're branching out into places we never used to see them.

For the most part Cyzak the people I see are pretty quiet and laid back. Mostly Front Range people beating the heat in Denver. You get some exceptions. I'm glad they're up here I guess, but we can't let Colorado turn into Oklahoma State Parks.

It is unique up there. I had a Blue Heeler puppy that grew up in that very country. As a pup I was all the time pulling cactus needles out of his paws. When he grew up he'd run all over dodging every cactus he'd encountered as we hiked all over both sides of the river looking for artifacts.

Yeah TR I was down in the SLV one time and for some reason wore my round the house tennis type shoes. That was a no go and had to run into Alamosa and buy some boots. ArfieBoy I worked as a state park ranger in Oklahoma for seven years and pretty much saw everything you could imagine, from blatant littering all the way up to murders. One big beer party on weekends. So I will say the crowd up here, at least in the mountains is a better bunch, with a few exceptions.
