I am probably wrong, and back east is not my strong point, but could that be a well worked spade?

I don't think its a spade or hoe. But it may be. I don't think its a finished relic, but one still being manufactured.

It could have been a tie on banner also, you never know.

I found a lot of broken slate there yesterday. I found an unfinished red slate bannerstone some years ago in the mid 1980's.

I don't see any use polish on it.

I am going to go with your banner theory. Thats a pretty cool artifact. You have a great place to search.

i have hunted this field a number of times over the year, every now and then I find a very nice relic.

Here is a frame holding the best from the exact same location as the slate relic above.

see the relic where the arrow is pointing.

Sweet, I started looking in my field, but just found one chip.
What county are you in?

I think bannerstone is probably a better call. Some of the nicer wing ones were fairly thin even with the drilling, and that has plenty of thickness for that.

You found one today, I had to buy mine today.

Here are few others I found there yesterday.

Very nice....grew up out around Franklin,IN and my brother would venture out and find some arrowheads but never anything like that! Think I have found a new hobby!
