10/4. ThankyouThis is a small Celt. Notice the symmetry. Most of them will have a slightly rough surface from pecking. Also notice how it’s wider at the bit than at the poll. The taper keeps it in place in a wood handle.View attachment 2172093

I don’t think there’s much doubt that you have a celt. I’ve found that same shaped celt before. Very thick and a more rounded cross section. I’m not really sure of the time period of these.Yes, just a stone. Not an artifact.
I thought I’d add a few pics of what I’m calling a Celt. Note the bit end on the narrow side. Would you consider this to serve as a Celt?… or perhaps something else.
