Celt or hoe?

My brother found this in a cow pasture, its green granite and thin, polished on the round end and looks chiped to a point on the square end. Not sure if it would be a hoe or a celt. I could see it hafted in like a celt, but it being that thin makes me think maybe its more like a hoe but i dont know how hafting in that angle would work?

And heres what I found and posted in another section ; )

I'd say celt too. Looks like similar material to one I found a couple years ago.

Nice one!

Ya thats what I was thinking, just never seen one this thin. The edge pic makes it look fatter than in real life, the pics squished I think. I'll have to get some measurements latter. Anyone have any pics of other thin hardstone celts?

Looks like they were going to polish it some more. Nice un. You think it may be half of one?

This one is pretty thin. The second celt was found at the same location a year earlier and about 50 yards away.

Celt, had the bit been offset then this would of been an adz.

Here in Indiana, I have found both thick and thin bodied celts and adz. The thickness of the body is often a ration of the length. More often than not, the finer the relic, meaning the body is fully polished so that no peck marks remain, the thinner the relic.

Here are some images of a few celts with not thick cross sections. Note the mini celt made of slate is extremely thin,

Great to see you back Greg , and I agree with you on the chisel, very nice piece quito. Nice pieces all around. Here's three celts I found. They're all from the same spot in se WV.

Nice artifact there atv.
