Got out with my buddy again who purchased my regular T2...
We headed out late to a large 1500-2000 acre piece of woods right on the border..
Half of the woods are in RI and half in CT..
Looking from the maps we knew there was 3 cellars out there..Headed out to two of them on the RI side
and it seems some did a good job pounding the heck out of them..
So back in the truck over to the CT side we decided to try our luck at the last one..
Upon entering the woods it was hard to find the last one it was thick and small pine trees..Millions of them..This house was on an 1870 and 1895 map and some dirt bikers we seen told us some of the barn was still standing..
We got lost and could not find it..
Plowing our way through the thick little pine trees following some walls all of a sudden we came upon walled in areas with just ferns..I said to him, something is up with this change of vegetation..
He said yeah turn around...I turn around and there hidden was a extremely early looking cellar hole.
It was getting dark so we quickly turn on the T2'S and out pops coin after coin..
He found a KG and CT copper...Also a nice decor piece of Colonial buckle..
I found a CT copper,my first ever..
2 KG coppers and a nice Dandy button.
It appears this cellar never even made it into the 1800's..
I have a feeling about this cellar it could throw a GW button or Rev War relics.
We found these coins and relics all within 25 minutes so we will be back...It was almost dark when we left.
We still have to find the original one we were looking for..
Have fun out there
