found this piece on Spanish Banks Beach in Vancouver today.
after a bit of cleaning I can read:

CCC
6 0
A4401

the piece appears to be either stainless of low-grade aluminum as it's completely non-magnetic.

reverse side is blank. could this be a crematorium tag?

almost forgot, the token is 1 1/4" across and 1/8" thick

that's the first thing I thought, but I can't find anything similar online

same here :(

there is no hole for it to be a tool tag either.

All the cremation tags I've found have had holes in them too. Maybe it was glued or soldered to something? Any evidence of that?

there is a bit of corrosion in the center of the coin, and the back has rough edges from where it was punched out of a sheet. Other than that I have nothing else to go on

Blowing up the pic makes me think the center may have had something attached to it. A button maybe?

Something ferrous must have been laying up against it to cause that "rust" looking spot. How about a photo of the back side?

in that case it most likely did have a hole in it,
that is rusted shut thanks to a Nail.

which means it could have been a tree or Pole Marker,
or even from a crate of goods/supplies .
if Conservation Corp related

tree marker makes sense, it was near a group of logs on the beach
