I found this on an old army base that's now civilian residence. It was about 9in. deep in original ground. The base dates back to the late 1880's. Unfortunately one of the numbers is gone (I looked and looked but couldn't find it) so I don't know if it's the 10th calvary company D or 11th or 12th, etc. Any info on this would be appreciated. It was found in Illinois. Thanks for reading. P.S. It's about 2 inches long. I also forgot to mention that this base was home to the 7th cavalry but this pin is definately not that.HH
