With my third child due in November my to do list is super long. Weekend hunts are out of the question for awhile. But I'm still sneaking out at lunch time to hit local parks whenever I get a chance. One park has recently produced a nice variety of large coppers. I've been averaging one each hunt the last four or five times out. Once I have some time I will post pictures.
Today while hunting I found a token with stars around the edge and some writing on it. Not sure what I had so I threw it in the keeper pocket on my finds pouch. When I got back to work I was a little curious about what I had. I was hoping for a civil war store token. I took it into work and rinse it off in the bathroom sink. The front has a picture of a cat and the back reads 'have you hugged your --deleted-- today'. (Deleted word was the slang for a kitty cat) You have to love these urban parks. This is one peep show token I have not seen before. Looked it up online and found someone asking $3.00 for one. One day I'm going to sell my modern tokens in one big lot on ebay.
Other keepers for the day were a 1847 LC and a 1958 D Wheatie.
