I'm all but done now for this season :'( but I managed to get my nineteenth Hammered of the year :icon_king: a Half Groat of Edward111 1327-77 from the London Mint :icon_study: a Silver love token made from a early milled coin probably William111 :icon_scratch: and child's ring looks to be Medieval :P On the way back to the car I picked up a lovely Flint Point just to top the afternoon off :icon_sunny: Roll on the Harvest :o :o :o

Hi RoyBoy......thanks for the comments  you must be part Octopus judging by the amount of detectors you use :D :D I pick up quite a few Flints whilst detecting but I think this is about the best. TK.

Love the flint axe! I hope to find its friend one of these days.
Hi.... it's to small to be a Flint Axe more likely a arrow head or maybe part of a spear.

Hi Derek.....it's great to break away the soil and see a Medieval Kings face staring back at you.

I really like the flint those points are made of, that is what flintknappers' dreams are made of. The rest of the stuff is super super great also, but that flint is top shelf stuff. I have a piece of it that a friend brought back from England year before last and I refuse to knap it until I'm more skilled, I'd hate to mess it up. Someone posted a whole building somewhere in England that's made from that kind of flint. I told my wife if we ever made it to England she'd have to keep me away from that building, I'd be trying to get myself a little "chunk" of it. Big no-no, ehhh?

Thanks for sharing,

Lots of old castles, churches etc (& even some modern) house's are flint faced.
